Electrical Engineering Opportunities
Sr. Electrical Engineer
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 15-20 years building electrical engineering experience to work directly with Principal of company.
- Electrical engineering design, consulting and construction administration: Power distribution system analysis & design (Low, medium and high voltage), generator power systems, protective relaying, over-current protection, grounding, emergency & backup power, instrumentation & controls a +.
- A theoretical and working knowledge of 3-phase AC power systems, 3-phase power calculations, rotating electric machines (motors / generators) and fault current analysis.
- Experience with medium and high voltage power systems, substations, transmissions lines, DC power plants, specialized grounding systems, controls & instrumentation systems, low voltage communication systems (data, fire alarm, security, building management).
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code.
- Field experience (surveying, inspecting, and/or performing electrical construction work).
- Management and leadership skills are required and/or project management experience to manage and lead multiple personnel and projects within the engineering group.
- Responsibilities will be to manage all project activities (Project sizes vary from $5 million to $500 million in construction fees for commercial, industrial & institutional, private & public sectors).
- Provide technical support, Manage and maintain high levels of project quality assurance & quality control.
- Experience with writing specifications, technical documents and reports.
- Strategic business planning.
- Sales proposal development/writing, coordination of team & vendors, from project inception through project completion.
- Experience with major MEP firms.
- Have sales and/or client relation skills, client interface & presentations.
- With good written and verbal communication skills.
- Are organized, self-motivated, computer literate, a team player and who have the ability to meet deadlines.
Project Electrical Engineer / Designer
- Position requires individuals with 6-10 years experience.
- Responsibilities will be to perform Electrical engineering design and analysis (Low, medium and high voltage), consulting and construction administration: of electric power distribution for new and existing construction projects. Power system analysis, Generator power systems, protective relaying, over-current protection, grounding, emergency & backup power, instrumentation & controls a +.
- Individuals must have experience in power distributions system analysis and electrical engineering design, including: power distribution systems, feeders. Including: drawings, layouts and details, specifications. Knowledge of code.

Electrical Engineer / Designer
- Position requires 0-3 years experience to perform electrical design. Individuals with school or electrical contractor experience in design or power analysis. Power system analysis, Generator power systems, protective relaying, over-current protection, grounding, emergency & backup power, instrumentation & controls a +.
- Autocad experience required.
Sr. Electrical Estimator
- Position requires an individual with 15-20 years experience in electrical estimating of projects average in size $7 million to $400 million in construction fees, for the commercial, industrial & institutional, private & public sectors. Position requires an individual with management experience and the ability to handle multiple projects. Responsibilities will be to manage all activities within the estimating group, coordination of team & vendors, to develop the entire estimate(s), conceptual estimates, design estimates, bid proposals and change order estimates.
- Individuals must have extensive experience in estimating power distribution systems, feeders, lighting & specialty, life safety, and telecommunications systems.
- Background with electrical estimating software and/or lotus or excel spreadsheets and a college degree is preferred.
Electrical Estimator
- Position requires individual with 8-10 years experience.
- Responsibilities will be to perform takeoffs, coordinate vendors and information, develop the entire estimate(s), conceptual estimates, design estimates, bid proposals and change order estimates. Individuals must have extensive experience in estimating power distribution systems, feeders, lighting & specialty, life safety, and telecommunications systems.
- Background with electrical estimating software and/or lotus or excel spreadsheets and a college degree is preferred.
Jr. Electrical Estimator
- Position requires 0-2 years experience to perform estimate take offs. A background in construction and knowledge of electrical cost estimating. Background with electrical estimating software and/or lotus or excel spreadsheets and a college degree is a plus, but not required.
Required Experience for All Positions:
Opportunities exist for an electrical engineer with an electrical system design and construction background.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required for all positions. Prefer the education and hands on experience required to understand the operation, interpret drawings and specifications for electrical power distribution systems within buildings, facilities and/or campuses.
- Must be self starting, resourceful, organized, self-motivated, computer literate, and a team player.
- Experience with electrical power distribution system engineering design and construction administration.
- BS in Electrical Engineering (or) equivalent technical knowledge and field experience with commercial, industrial and institutional facilities for building construction type projects.
- Knowledge of design and drafting (using AutoCAD) of electrical power for commercial and industrial structures.
- Candidates should have the ability to read and interpret prints created in an engineering environment and have experience with AutoCAD.
- Must be in good health with no limitations and the ability to work on a construction site (as needed).
- Position requires individual who:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency for e-mail, develop schedules and prepare reports on the status of their work. Including MS Office Suite and AutoCAD drafting experience
- Has the ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively.
- Can handle and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, can prioritize and who has the ability to meet deadlines.
- Has excellent organizational; written & verbal communication skills; and who is attentive to detail.
- Must also be able to pass a background investigation and authorized to work in the U.S.
THE FOLLOWING ARE A +++
- Background with an engineering consulting firm, electrical construction company or related.
- Background with electrical estimating.
- Experience with automation controls/PLC
- PLC programming experience
- Candidate must have knowledge of AutoCAD and computer skills are required. Auto Desk certification or certification from an AutoCAD training program a plus.
- E.I.T certificate, FE exam, B.S.E.E. and/or PE license, not required but preferred.
